Mambogem was founded in January 2007 by Jessalyn Zoe, a passionate latin fusion contemporary dancer from San Francisco, U.S.  The dance company was the very first dance company dedicated to performing and promoting New York style Salsa "on2" in Shanghai.  Mambogem Latin Dance Company pioneered New York style Salsa "on2"  in Shanghai.  Today the dance company performs variety of Latin ance styles including Afro-Cuba, Salsa on 2, Cuban salsa, Rueda, Contemporary and Modern Jazz.

Jessalyn sees dance not only as a craft and art form, but also one of the most powerful expression of humanity.  It's with such profound respect and  love for this art, Jessalyn founded Mambogem in Shanghai. She believes dance as such a refined art is to be practiced regularly with heart, body and soul.  To be a good dancer one must have "3A" qualities - Athletism, Animal (passion, raw energy, attitude) and Artistry.  Mambo dance itself contains variety of dance styling elements, and should be danced and performed with much flexibility and creativity to fuse with variety of dances.  Her latest dance choreography reflects more of such principle and belief.

Since 2007, Mambogem dance company has performed in a number of world-reknowned events, from October 28,2007 at the Japan World Salsa Congress in Tokyo, to 2008 Beijing Salsa congress, to 2009 Korea World Salsa Festival and 2009 Beijing Salsa congress. 

Mambogem are made up of members from Italy, China, France, Japan, and USA, all shares the common love and passion for dance and performance.
